Energy tower
An energy tower of the municipality of Mamer, which supplies the Capellen school campus and the adjacent municipal buildings with renewable energy.
Initiative phase: Well established and runningThe energy tower, as a municipal heating network, not only supplies various schools, but also the sports hall and the relay house as well as the nearby municipal buildings on campus.
Various renewable energies such as wood boilers, pellets, solar thermal and heat pumps generate the necessary energy to supply these buildings with 100% renewable energy.
Heat is generated in the Energy Tower using renewable and CO2-neutral energies and wood-based raw materials. The installed capacities are 100 kW for the wood boiler, 550 kW for the pellet boiler, 90 kW for the heat pump and 60 m2 of solar collectors.
The project has an exemplary concept that reduces dependence on fossil fuel imports.
