PRO-SUD is the union of 11 municipalities committed to the promotion of the southern region and coordinator of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve (MUB). The biosphere reserve programme promotes biodiversity conservation and sustainable development based on citizen participation, education, research and land use planning.
Conservation: We contribute to the conservation of landscapes, ecosystems, species and genetic variation.
Development: We promote regional economic and human development that is socio-culturally and ecologically sustainable.
Logistical support: We provide resources for environmental education and training projects and activities; research and monitoring on local, regional, national and global conservation and sustainable development issues.
