Nature Conservation Centre A Wiewesch

The A Wiewesch Nature Conservation Centre is located in the heart of the village of Manternach, nestled between fields, pastures and orchards. In the barn and stables of the former farm, there is an interactive exhibition on nature conservation and agriculture.

A Wiewesch is one of 5 nature conservation centres of the nature administration. Each nature conservation centre has a thematic focus, its own identity. The exhibition "Nature Conservation and Agriculture" in Manternach highlights the complex interrelationships and interdependence between agriculture and nature in a vivid way. It shows that biodiversity, a thriving agriculture and a healthy diet belong together.

A Wiewesch sees itself as a "gateway to nature" and is the starting point for no less than four nature trails, where the different habitats in the nature reserve as well as the varied cultivated landscapes around Manternach can be discovered.

Throughout the year, our team offers a varied programme of nature experience activities for young and old. The focus is especially on activities that explain the connection between nature conservation and agriculture. In addition to practical nature conservation and forest management, the main tasks of the nature administration include raising public awareness of nature conservation and natural resources. This mission is fulfilled by the nature conservation centres run by the nature administration, which offer the public and school classes an experience-oriented range of nature activities with the aim of increasing the participants' awareness and responsibility for our environment.

The nature conservation centre is open from Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 5 pm.
In summer, the centre is also open on weekends.
